Tumwater Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician. This position is full time and requires some Saturday work. Tumwater Veterinary Hospital is a large, independently owned small animal practice. We are looking for a professional, reliable and energetic team player to join our incredible staff. A current WA veterinary technician license is required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Addressing client concerns and answering them appropriately during visits, updates, or after hospitalization; provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values; administer injections, IV or SQ fluid therapy; intubation and extubation and how to appropriately monitor post-operative patients; performing all in-house laboratory diagnostics and appropriately submitting out-house laboratory samples to all diagnostic labs used; calculate basic medical math; understand classification of commonly-used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response; using practice management software to maintain client and patient records; administering medications via appropriate routes and duration; preparing medications and patient for discharge, and communicating discharge instructions to client; assistance as needed or instructed with patient care, cleanliness, and restraint.
If you are the LVT we are looking for, you will have at least 1 year of clinical experience in a veterinary hospital, and 1 year of animal handling experience. Knowledge of Avimark Veterinary Software is a plus. Our ideal candidate will be familiar with pet behavior and fear-free techniques, be self-motivated, enthusiastic, compassionate, and detail-oriented and possess excellent communication skills-- both verbal and written. You will use your communication skills, problem solving skills, and ability to multi-task in a busy environment to respond quickly and calmly during stressful situations.

Veterinary ER Nurse: The emergency nurse is to be responsible for treatments of hospitalized patients and outpatient diagnostics and treatments and assisting emergency nurse lead when necessary. Essential technician duties will include: managing case flow of patients presenting to the ER and assisting doctors in creating a priority of the patients, drug dosage calculation and administration, laboratory diagnostics, and management of critically ill patients.

PT LVT wanted: Pet Health Clinic in Sunnyside is seeking a part time licensed veterinary technician: 3 days a week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 8:00 - 5:30. No emergency or on-call, but some weekend patient care is required.
Our three doctors rely on our technicians for venipuncture, restraint, digital radiographs (including dental rads) and client education, but also for sharing information and observations, and really being part of a team with the doctor.
